Designated High School

All Grade 9 students have been designated to their high school. Students are designated to schools according to their home address.  You can find your designated high school by using the Find A School tool on the mainCBE website.  

Western Canada High School Registration & Course Requests

• Forms have been distributed to students & posted on this webpage under Related Information. 
• On February 5, the Western Canada High School counsellors will be at our school to speak with each student individually and enter courses into PowerSchool.
• Students must have a completed paper form when meeting with the WCHS counsellors on February 5. A completed form includes the teacher recommendation section, core academic courses & 5 complementary courses selected, and a parent/guardian signature.
• For students designated to high schools other than WCHS, course selection information will be shared with students & families as it becomes available.

High School Transfer Requests

• Complete the online form to request a transfer to a high school program of choice.
• The online high school transfer request form opens on Feb. 9.
• High school transfers are considered for:
• • specific programs or a sequence of courses
  • address change (new designated high school)
  • IB Program
• The online high school transfer request form will be open until Mar 15, 2026. 

International Baccalaureate (IB) Program

• Students interested in the IB program must complete the Expression of Interest form
• Email the completed Expression of Interest, with a copy of the January report card, to their designated IB school
• For Western Canada HS, the completed Expression of Interest form & report card should be emailed to Susan Rivers
• Submission deadline for the Grade 10 IB Registration and Course Selection paper form is March 15, 2026.
