Hello Rideau Banner

Hello Rideau Families!

Thank you for paying your school fees!

Reminders have been sent out to our Rideau Park families to review their fee balances. At the school level, we strive to manage our financial resources carefully and work with our families to ensure that fees remain manageable to support regular programming and applicable central services (gr 1-6 lunch supervision, transportation) as well as curricular enhancements. Through our ongoing partnership with our Rideau Park Parent’s Association (School Council), we have been able to enhance our resources and supplies as well as some programming costs for families (such as artist residencies) without charging additional fees.

Please know that partial payments can be made throughout the school year. Keeping your fees up to date helps us to work within our resources and maintain optimal programming for students at Rideau Park School. If you’d like to apply for a Fee Waiver, please click here for more information: https://www.cbe.ab.ca/registration/fees-and-waivers/Pages/Waivers.aspx.

The deadline for waiver applications is June 30th of the applicable school year. Waiver applications that are submitted past the deadline may not be approved. A new fee waiver application form must be completed for each school year. If circumstances change for your family at any point in the year, please continue to contact us so that we can make flexible arrangements as needed..

Reminder - Last Call - Planning for the 2026-2027 School Year

An integral part of planning is knowing how many students we can expect in our building. For that reason, we are kindly asking you to complete a brief Intent to Return survey.

Our ability to confirm teaching and support staff as well as provide programming is directly related to student population numbers. Your assistance in providing us with accurate attendance data is critical to successful planning. Thank you to all families who have already completed this survey!

Education Matters – Another way to make a direct difference!

We recently received an anonymous donation of just over $1000 that allowed us to purchase and install

new bulletin boards in several grade 7-9 spaces! Some of you may have noticed that this year our CBE facilities team installed some new walls and doors to close off 2 basement classrooms. This provided an opportunity for vertical learning spaces. Additionally, we were able to install bulletin boards in Ms. Redwood’s classroom which was sadly lacking! These financial gifts allow us to improve learning conditions at our school when our tight annual budget must focus primarily on staffing costs. If you or someone you know is passionate about public education at Rideau Park School, please take a look at our school’s personalized donation page!

Rideau Park Parents Association - School Council Update

Thank you to our School Council and Rideau Park Parents Association for working tirelessly to enrich the learning environment at Rideau Park School for all students.

Executive Council Vacancies Need Volunteers!

As we look towards the end of this school year, we are facing imminent vacancies in several volunteer positions within the School Council and the RPPA. The current positions that will need to be filled are:

Treasurer

Secretary

These positions are integral to our ability to manage information sharing/ recordkeeping, continue fundraising and managing the funds that directly support school priorities, classroom needs, and enrichment opportunities for students. Without parental involvement in these roles, our ability to continue that work could be significantly impacted. If you are interested in learning more about these roles, we encourage you to attend our upcoming School Council and RPPA meetings.

Our next School Council and RPPA meetings will take place VIRTUALLY on Wednesday, April 15 at 1:45 PM. here is the TEAMS meeting link:
