Hello Rideau Banner

Hello Rideau Families!

I am so proud of our Rideau Park Community! Our staff and students are incredible! Last night we hosted two Open House events. For the first part of the evening, we welcomed future kindergarten students and parents to learn about our program and to familiarize themselves with key spaces in the kindergarten environment (learning commons, classroom, gym, music room). Our mascot Rocky, even made an appearance during our presentation. For the part of the evening, we opened the school for our Junior High (Middle School) tour. We had a great turn out which required extra seating in the gym! A large number of staff and many student volunteers talked about our learning environment, Middle School “life” and complementary programming. Students spoke from a personal perspective about trying out for athletics, participating in band, enjoying the responsibility of off-campus lunch and receiving personalized learning. They, along with our amazing teachers, did a fantastic job of showing potential students that we have a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Thank you to Ms. Kelsey, Ms. Redwood, Mr. Ball, Mr. Pocock, Mr. Burns, Ms. Wilson, Ms. Koshynsky, Mme. Ford, Ms. Dockrill, Ms. Lovas and Ms. Cochrane for contributing to this work and showcasing our school!

You are Invited: Kindergarten – Grade 2 Literacy Night

We are pleased to have teachers Ms. Dockrill and Ms. Bliek volunteer their time to provide a presentation focused on Literacy strategies to parents of our younger learners. The early years are a critical time for the development and enjoyment of reading. Research shows that strong reading skills are an early predictor of future academic success. Please join us on Wednesday January 21 at 5:00pm in the Learning Commons. You can then stick around for School Council!
